Aviva have provided us with some important Claims Information which to be honest doesn’t just apply to Aviva policyholder’s and here at ARC we have noted a trend in postcodes across the UK so please be vigilant and take note of some of this advice.

Recent spike in luxury vehicle thefts
In the last few weeks an unfortunate trend in luxury vehicle theft claims has emerged specifically in the affluent London postcode area of NW11.
Aviva are wanting to make clients aware of the risk in this area (and as I stated before, all areas in the UK I consider are at risk) to be extra vigilant in taking the necessary precautions to protect their vehicles.
To help mitigate the risk, Aviva suggest the following actions be taken:
1.Always lock your car securely when you leave it, even for a short time, and to keep keys with you. Using a steering wheel lock for extra (visible) security could make a would-be thief pass over the vehicle for another.
2.Seriously consider installing trackers and immobilisers. Products such as the Tracker S5 Plus, Ghost II, Scorpion X and NoGo are Thatcham-approved and are highly recommended as they offer an extra layer of protection from key cloning and hacking. Remember this may already be a requirement on your insurance policy and if you are not complying your cover could be invalidated if you should have a claim.
3.Make sure the subscription for the vehicle tracking device is maintained – a subscription that’s overdue could affect their motor insurance policy.
